Swissair Convair CV990 HB-ICB

Swissair übernahm die HB-ICB als zweite Maschine dieses Typs Convair. Für kurze Zeit wurde die Maschine auch mal an Ghana Airways vermietet. Ansonsten blieb der Flieger während all den Jahren bis zu seiner Verschrottung in Bremen-Finkeweder immer bei der Swissair im Einsatz.

Swissair Convair CV990 HB-ICC

Die im Dezember 1961 gebaute Convair 990 sollte ursprünglich an die Gereral Dynamics ausgeliefert werden die sie jedoch nie übernahm. Die Swissair sprang dann beim Hersteller in die Bresche und übernahm den Flieger bevor er modifiziert beim schweizer Nationalcarrier den Betrieb aufnahm als HB-ICC. Diese "Coronado" wurde insofern bekannt, als dass sie von der Swissair mitte der siebziger Jahre dem Verkehrshaus in Luzern geschenkt wurde wo sie heute noch zu besichtigen ist.
